Battlefield bad company is indeed awesome. However the single player campaign really bugged me when you'd walk 10 feet then you goto another cut scene... was really annoying. The gameplay is really fun though, especially online.

So Bad Company 2 is pretty good? How does it compare to Modern Warfare 2?

imo better in singleplayer (havent played online yet, have to buy the game). While bfbc2 is also mostly scripted AI, it doesnt feel super scripted like mw2. bfbc2 feel more serious and not just fragging everything that moves.

bfbc2 has some of the best sound effects i've ever heard in a game. Weapons change reverb, echo etc pretty realisticly. You can even hear the gun sound bounce off from mountains and shit if you are out in wide areas. You shoot and 0,5 - up to 2 seconds later (depending on your position) you will hear it bounce off. Dont know any other game that has that. Overall the weapons just feel pretty awesome.

I also love the game engine that lets you destroy pretty much everything. Walls, trees. You can bring down whole buildings. There is no hiding behind bulletproof indestructable walls or houses.

Hm I tried Borderlands but the gameplay was pretty clunky, which turned me off immediately.

Clunky? I would say how quickly you beat the game combined with how repetitive the enemies are turned me off but it didn't feel clunky. Probably depends on the class you play though, the sniper is extremely fun.

I was the sniper but it felt like the aiming wasn't smooth at all, I even turned down my mouse sensitivity to try and smooth it out. It was the animation style also I suppose, enemies movements were really jerky, etc. I dunno, I played the PC version so the port may have sucked.

I know that this has been done before, but I can't find it. What's everyone's gamer ID's?

I've been playing COD: MW2 as well as COD: WaW. I'd love to party up and kick some ass!

Mass Effect 2 wasn't bad... Chronicles of Riddick is fun if you haven't played it back in the XBOX 1.0 days.

If you have a PS3 I heard that Demon's Souls was amazing.

I'm loving Mass Effect 2. It's deep and takes forever, but it's tons of fun.

Still mostly playing MW2. I'd LOVE to put the thing down, but it's like crack. I made the mistake of prestiging and now I'm trying to level back up to a comfortable set of classes.

I've been wanting to get Mass Effect 2 but I still never beat 1. When I was in the middle of the game, I rebuilt my PC and never picked it back up. I just went through GTA4, start to "finish" and I think I won't be installing or re-installing anything else until I beat ME1.

I really dig a lot about Mass Effect, but there's a lot I hope is "fixed" in 2 [PC].

The camera "jolts" around a lot [especially when going up/down stairs]
The graphics are seriously the most haphazard I've ever seen in a recent video game. Some characters [Wrex] look fantastic, almost Gears of War quality of texture, model, etc, then you see stuff like faces, uniforms, etc, that look like they were pulled right out of a PS2 game, with zero texture filtering.

Also: no fucking controller support! WTF?

Supposedly the graphics are a lot more dialed-in than 1's were, I just hope the camera's not as jerky. I've heard the PC version of two has no controller support as well. Fuck that.

2 is by far better then 1. Everything annoying from the first game was removed outright and the end result is an RPG that tends to play a lot like a shooter. The only thing you do that's annoying is mine planets for materials to aid in research. Kind of tedious.

Yeah, Halo Reach looks rad.

You kidding me? It's a good game but I am constantly wanting to quit because of its fucking cover system. Which is completely retarded. Well, not completely, but 10% retarded, and that 10% makes some parts of the game unbearably frustrating. For example when you're behind cover and you manage to get hit, your dude STANDS UP. Stands up and shakes his/her fucking head. Imagine you're fighting a giant robot and being in cover is the only way to keep from getting killed. One mistake and your guy stands up and becomes missile fodder. Ugh.

But it's a good game. I just wouldn't give it quite as much credit.

I don't think that bothered me as much. I mean, a handful of times it was a problem, but it didn't sully the game for me.

I thought they addressed most of the issues from the first game though.

I didn't like the extreme dumbing down of the RPG elements of the game and I thought the environments were a little sparse and linear. Great vehicle for an epic story though.

I'm a big fat shooter guy though, so I've got my biases :)

In everything except the cover mechanic and the simplified item system I'm thumbs upping this game all the way.

I really liked the inventory and item collection system from Mass Effect 1, that kind of bummed me out too when they made it super linear.

That's what I've heard from most people who have played 1 and then 2, doodler. I played 1 after 2, and prefered 2's style. Either way, the story is really fucking epic.

I like excessively complicated item games, though. Like I'm still pining for the good ol' mechwarrior days where you salvage 290342 parts at the end of a mission and have to sort through them. I'm sure most people don't want to go through that hassle.
